another trick is to undo them all and turn every second one the opposite way, clamp back together and put the bolt back through and bash all the metal tabs back over.
warning-this can crack/snap leaf springs, same as turning them up side down.
best just to get a set of lowering blocks

Does any1 know the part number for 2.5-3 inch blocks? Or know the diameter of the circle part the blocks slide into?

Dont get big lowering blocks, they are ridiculous and will probably interfere with your wheels.

Reassemble your leaf packs with the 2nd longest leaf upside down on top of the pack. Use a few good quality G-clamps as there is a lot of force required. Took me about an hour to do mine, went from this:

To this (including cut fronts):

i dont know if this is true so dont curse at me if im wrong.
ive been told that :

- cut front springs makes your car much softer.

and

- lowering blocks makes your car stiffer.

can anyone help me with these statements?
cheers

No- cut front springs will stiffen the front
use a calculator like this to estimate the spring rate if you cut of some coils
http://www.ac-parts.com/utilities/coilsprings.html

i dont think lowering blocks affect spring rate

yes its called ryobi :giggle:

its not legal but if you insist, cut half coil of the bottom of the spring and see if low enough (this means you have to keep taking it out and re installing the spring and strut till you get the right height- time consuming).
Each time chek if the tyre rubs on foot well etc.

cut half a coil off each time till you get the height you want. dont be gready cause once you cut it and its too low you cant sticky tape it back on, and cable ties wont help there either

Jack up car
Take wheel off
Guess height off
Stick grinder against spring
Replace 1mm cutoff disk that snapped when the spring gave way
Remove bit of spring that is now stuck under the rest of the spring (i cut it into more pieces)
Line up cut end with notch in spring seat
Drill small hole in spring seat and wire the coil to the seat
Put wheel back on
Do the other side

Worked fine for me for several months, then again with a12 auto it was never gonna be a race car
