This will probably be my next event. Would be good to see a decent bunch of Ozdat guys like Winton. Anyone interested? I have entry forms and can email (or if someone tells me how to post a pdf here, I'll do that)

Yes you can enter either or both days.

Saturday is familiarisation day (untimed) - I always do the Saturday because you get 15 - 20 minute sessions and generally people finish up early to head home and prepare for the next day so if the car survives the day, you might get some extra track time late arvo. Bit less serious than the Sunday timed sprints. Entry is $150 pre 8/8/09 or $160 after. One hour of track time expected. Full 95dBA allowed. Happy to share the Performance Box around - you just need a cigarette socket to power it. If we all have a go, I can overlay the lap traces to see how we all drive the circuit differently.

Sunday sprints. $160 pre 8/8/09 or $175 after.

140 entries accepted Groups up to 26 cars.

Gates open 7am, scutineering 7:20, start 9:20, finish 5pm.

They usually run the superkart championship races in several heats on the Saturday, in between groups. My experience with these days is you normally get 3 or 4 runs of 15 - 20 minutes. Not as well run as WRX/SAU Winton but still OK. Get there early for a group posi in the pits. They will have instructors on hand to show you how to drive!

With Winton fresh in mind, let's scrape together a decent crew and hit PI.

i'm still trying to get hold of a timing device which is making the saturday a little less appealing. Mark is in the same boat. How do you feel about the sunday doug? i think its an MSCA event too so there will be other nis/dat's. i would like to take out an instructor tho

I used racechrono for timing at Winton, and it got my times within a tenth of the official timing. All you need is a $99 bluetooth GPS and a compatible mobile phone or PDA (because I didn't have a mobile with the correct operating system, I used the Windows version of racechrono on an old laptop at Winton). As an added benefit, it does full datalogging and analysis of your laps

http://racechrono.com/

and here's the GPS unit I used, this place was cheapest I could find and I got it the day after I ordered it

I should stop looking in the Victorian section, makes me want to go on another road trip down there

Ive already entered fro Saturday. Generally get more track time, especially late in the day when lots of people pack up and head home to prepare for Sunday.

You can borrow the Performance Box if we are in separate groups. Just need a cigarette lighter socket. Would be good to overlay lap traces and compare.

The lady told me they only had 30-40 entries for sat so there will be lots and lots of track time. Hoping to borrow your performance box if we are in different groups doug :D
