depends on your budget.
If you go efi tho, go twin cam...

It would take alot of $'s to get the same power, manners and reliabilty out of an L series...

Build a tuff L series you cant beat the sound of a strong L series fed by a pair of webers music to the ears.

whats the car goin to be used for ?
also what sort of power are you after?

the stroker 2.4 motors dont last a long time as the bore is to thin and they start chewing oil from warped cylinders.
If u want a stroker go a 2.3L,keep those cylinder walls stronger.

If your budget is $5K or less stick with your L series. If your budget is around $10K then do a conversion of sorts. It depends on what floats your boat really. SR's have been done heaps as with Z18's and FJ's. Really nice L series, even L16's seem to be pretty thin on the ground. You can make a L16 go pretty hard.

Do what you want. You will anyway.

I have a few z items left. And a complete L18 from my 720 with only 140xxx km on it. Selling the twin su's off it but other than that it was a strong donk. Maybe new rings but thats all it needed.

$400. At least you get a lower km peanut head and a W block.

New timing chain, water pump, head gasket replaced, new thermostat housing...

And yeah a variety of z18et bits.

food for though.
