Interesting thread. Some good feedback.

I can vouch for the QFM as I am using them on my car (Front: R33 GTS-T Calipers on 296mm dia, and R31 calipers with 290mm dia rears). Not sure what they are any more I've got it written down somewhere. They were recommended to me by the brake place I bought my rebuild kits through "Better Brakes in Bayswater, Vic - HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!

The engineer did a similar test as above (perhaps 10 stops from 60K and then 100 to stop 2or 3 times), and the test actually got better the more braking we did! Good pads.

It depends what you are using the brakes for.
Street.
rally.
supersprint.
race.

We had track tested by mr P ( super sprint Oran park) some $38 street pads & the performance was amazing.
So much so that some other competitors could not believe how good they were and were blown away by the price.

The same pads were fade tested last week.
Engineer was impressed by cold performance before fade test commenced.
Fade test started.
15 hard stops from 60K in 4mins to get them warm.( with pressure Pads & radar & G meter vs time)
No lock up allowed.
Then 4 hard stops from 100K consecutive with no recovery.
Constant 1g recorded on each of the 4 runs.
Engineer was again impressed, by fade resistance , lack of smell & smoke.
R32 280s front R31 rears. SnS rotors

So some inexpensive pads can do an excellent job.

We have them in stock.

Funny you should say about cheap pads.
I roll silverline (Repcos cheapest nastiest pads, cost $20 new, with staff discount) in my s13 front brakes on my supercharged B110. And depsite the fact they make my chevoit tridents filthy dirty, they stop on a dime and I've never been able to make them smell much less fade. (And that includes some pretty hectic hill work)
