1982 Stanza GX

This is my Red 1982 Datsun Stanza GX that i bought to drive when i get my P's.
Has an L18 with a datrally head.
5 speed dogleg gearbox out of SSS.
Tacho dash cluster out of SSS.
Dash has no cracks.
Still has original AM radio/clock but is fitted with a kenwood speakers/headunit.
Dual Fuel.
Dash has been dyed black.
There is a little bit of rust but not too much and should be easily fixed.

Ideas:
Polished Datsun OHC rocker cover.
Woodgrain steering wheel and wooden Speco gearknob.
Want to eventually respray it red or a different colour.
Remove all black side bumper things and pinstripes.
Spray the hotwires gloss black and polish the lip.
re-dye dash and centre black.

Going to get everything out of the engine bay soon and start cleaning it up/sanding it back ready for paint!.

Got a pair of Twin SU's for it and a new head is going on soon.

Colour im going to paint the car is a bright blue (kinda like ford blaze blue)

Hoping to clean the engine bay out a bit (hide whatever i can behind the front guards and stuff like that)

Assembled the Twin SU's, now i just gotta set up for dual fuel.

Just need to give them a good clean, maybe paint the manifold.
I gave the cover bits a slight polish but will eventually give them a better one

I am also looking for a stock air filter box (i only have the one part of it)

Started sanding back some paint today

Also bought a air filter box from "James May" and i got a filter for it today, ryco A257.

Got some new screws for the SU's to look make it look a bit cleaner

Yay, sanding is always fun! Like that Laser in the background, looks pretty racey. Is there much rust in the Stanza, other than the bootlid?

Theres a little bit in one of the rear quarters but its on the panel, not eating away at the bottom, one of the doors has a tiny bit in one of the corners but thats pretty much all ive seen so far.

I took the badges off and theres no holes in the body, they were just taped on?

On 200Bs the bootlid badges are held on with some kind of adhesive but the rear quarter badges have little pins that go into the body.

Oh ok thanks for that Al, it just looked like there should have been pins.

Finished sanding most of the boot and started doing up the drivers side and a tiny bit of the front guard

Gonna get some paint stripper soon due to realizing sanding the whole car will take WAY too long haha
Getting rid of the gas tank so i can have a clean/spacious boot.
started taking some random bits (wipermotor/washerbottle/clutch cylinder etc) getting closer to take the engine out to paint the bay
