Hi Guys,

It's time for a rebuild for the rally car and I,m looking to upgrade the roll cage to something more substancial than the 1980s version in it.

Any pic of completed cages, any areas that are must haves?

Cheers

John

Sorry to be off topic.
Is that a pic from this years run?
If so, how did you go? Guess you didnt venture down south for the rally?
Didnt recall any mazda/datsun hybrids in the classic run.

Ideally you want to design the cage so you will be sitting fairly close to the main hoop, with preferably a double cross in the main hoop and side intrusion bars. Personally I am a big fan of sainz bars at the front (the additional triangulation that goes from the top of the a pillar to the floor in addition to the main forward bar) as it can stop the a pillar from crushing down

Look at custom cages website for ideas (they don't do a datto cage, but you can see what you can fit in)

Also, check cams regulations as well before you commit to building
