i've redone all the brakes on my 1600, however having trouble with them seizing on.
its got 240k struts, reco'd s13w hilux calipers and magna discs. r31 rears (non reco'd calipers)
new steel lines, new braided lines, new 1" master (with valve removed), an an old 120Y booster.
i've bled the brakes, however the pedal still doesnt get hard till its quite close to the floor.
when i release the brakes, the pads/pistons are returning, and therefor makes the car hard to move.
this is without the engine running (not able to run it yet)
could it be just air in the lines still somewhere, or the old booster (unknown condition)
its mainly the front rotors that are jamming right on.
if i pry the pads back out, they stay out, but next time i press the brake pedal, they jam back on.

any idea's? i wanna send it to a mechanic to get it running, just needa sort some small annoying issues like this out first.

cheers

The only thing I can think of ATM is did you bleed the M/C first?
The pistons may be seizing in the calliper bore due to lack of lubricant.
I don't know who reconditioned them but perhaps they deserve a re-visit
The brake booster is of no consequence at this point since it is a creature comfort and without the engine operating it should have no affect on static brake operation.
Without a vacuum source it should act as a straight through device, i.e. no change in operation to an un-boosted system.

How worn are the pads too? and they brand new?
Sounds like there may be a lack of lube on the pistons themselves. But press the pedal a few times, then crack the bleeder and see if there is a build up of pressure in the caliper still.

yeah didnt think it could be the booster at all.
leaning towards lack of lube possibly on the calipers.
i rebuilt them myself however it was some time before they were bled. may have to strip them down again.
