You have done a really great job with the smash repair. As someone who has done a really bad job of smash repairs i respect it. I havent seen many of these datsuns but i like yours.

Thanks :)
My brother michael deserves most of the credit for convincing me we could attempt something that i thought was impossible. :)

Mate, your car is looking fantastic!

You must be pleased with the progress you're making?

Can't wait to see it back on the road......we'll have to go to the SDC monthly meetings and join you up! Good opportunity to show it off :cheers

All the best Pete

Actually clarkson had a huge influence on my decision too :blahblah:
I've heard good things about that movie... i'll give it a watch :) I you tubed some of the promo material and there's certainly some familiar themes :P

Mark - Yeah I'm massively pleased. Because its a amatuer driveway paint job it will never shine like it should but all things considered it should be a better car than ever! :)
I dont have a complete car to take to SDC yet! maybe we should give it a couple of months. the plan is to have it ready for rego around november... my bday's on the 9th so it would make a sweet self-gift :)
I've been a little neglectful of my studies though and i feel bad because my attention has gone into this... you should put up a thread on your coupe! there's so much detailed quality work on that thing... makes my build look like a home-botched job (which it is *cough*).

Thanks so much for the high praise guys... I'm getting a little giddy with pride

Cheers,
pete

Had some sunshine for the first time in weeks and got to see all my disgusting painting errors! So I resprayed a couple of the worst panels and used to opportunity to take some photos that properly show the colour for the first time. I heart this colour and the way it picks up the light :). This is the first time i've sprayed a car so im pretty pleased with the outcomes thus far - though it does require alot of cut and polish.

Hilux calipers with DBA 425 slotted rotors... I think they look quite tidy(thanks for the tip!). I had some difficulty tracking the s13 calipers but was able to get s12's and machine them out to accept the wider rotor as suggested elsewhere on this forum... (Ludachris? i think?) I havent sourced them yet but the s13 pads are supposed to work fine and solve any clearance issues.
I had the dba425's redrilled but I dont like doing so - if anyone knows of a reasonably priced source for the undrilled rotors i'd love to hear because the $150/rotor from dba is out of my budget at the moment :( Anyway the redrilled ones will do for now.

correct... its a bit annoying when you consider the drilled ones go for as little as $40 a rotor... :(
