Pete, too long between drinks......and too long since you posted anything on your car.

Show off your latest additions mate, they're awesome! 8)

It was good to catch up with you. Thanks for getting those brakes for me. I'll keep the balancer for you with those wheel bolts you gave me a healthy deposit!

:cheers

Great body shape on these. Looks like a tidy example with the work you've done!

Its been ages since I posted!
Life has kept me distracted from making huge progress on cars but they are not forgotten
I Managed to track down some tatty SSR RS8's in australia FOR CHEAPS!!!! I cleaned them up and threw them on the car -still with japanese rubber. *giggle*

I also worked out a rear disk conversion for cedrics using the existing diff assembly - anyone who wants any info on this give me a PM and I can talk you through it.

Also I have some photos hidden away somewhere of my visit to the japanese classic car meet in tokyo this year so I'll dig them up and post for anyone interested.

SO hopefully more to come in the next couple of weeks as the motor is long overdue for some sexing up.

Au revoir!

We really need a Cedric discussion area on this forum for tech articles and stuff. I'm interested in hearing about what you did, particularly if all the components are junkyard specials! :)

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, I should have some more progress up soon. A trip to my favorite scrapyard yielded an oil cooler kit for an L-series engine and a new diff center so I should have some pictures up in the next week since I'm on holidays atm (more car time!).

Totally agree. I've been blessed to have access to Mark's significant knowledge and experience with cedrics but unlike zeds and 1600 etc there is very little published and discussed information for customising our cars- perhaps we should start a technical thread? And yes the rear brakes is a easy conversion using cheap junkyard parts if you can find them.

Everytime we do a conversion or mod that requires some cedric know-how we should post up the tricks? I think I spend far more time "figuring out" how to do conversions than actually doing them.

I would pressume so? I found it on a MR30 hatch that had hood vents cut into it (he he he!). I also found an oil filter relocator (right angle) on a L4 engine - is there any reason this can't be used on an L6?
I actually have already installed a oil filter colar on my car a while ago but liked the cooler so I gave the colar to my brother to pay for a nights board at his place near the scrapyard :P

I'll take some photos of my cooler setup soon as there's a little trick with filters for anyone who wants to put a cooler on without using a relocator.

Mark- there's a slight delay on your timing mark as I left a spacer for it at michaels, if it doesnt turn up itwould be simple to replace with a small cut of pipe but I thought it would be easier to see if i can find the original. Should post in the next few days

Cheers,
-Pete

Cool, looking forward to seeing some pics of it.

L4 and L6 oil relocators should be interchangeable.

The pointer..whenever you can mate, I'm grateful for the effort.
