Post subject: | Engine mount replacement questions?? |
Hi all, Have a L20b in my 1600 and need to replace my engine mounts. I am sure it can't be difficult but just wondering if there is a simple guide on how to do it. Cheers, Scott |

Raise engine slightly and support, either with: Engine hoist - very easy and best way Block of wood and jack under the sump - a bit dodgy, can squash the sump onto the oil pickup - oil starvation unbolt one engine mount, replace with new one be careful when unbolting drivers side mount that you dont short out your spanner on the positive lead on the starter motor... best to disconnect the battery first to make sure repeat for other side let engine down open fridge grab beer open beer drink beer oops sorry i went a bit far |

I find that putting the block of wood under the alternator bracket is a bit safer than squashing the sump. You lift one side, replace the mount, drop it down, then repeat for the other side. |

I'm resurrecting this thread as I bought some new Engine Mounts for my L18 engine'd 1600. They are a good 15mm thicker than the ones removed from the car and I cannot get them to fit! Have I got the wrong mounts? If so, what are the mounts I need and where can I get them from (does anyone have a part number?)? Woz |

I’ve ordered a new set from Maddat. Once here I’ll post a picture of the difference. Apparently the thicker Ones are for a 720? |
