Hey Nik,

Happy New Years!

Good to hear you are progressing with yours. I'm ready for a run when you are ;)

I still havent driven the car to be honest, it's too hot at the moment and now I'm rocking 300KW in the RS I'm having some fun with that :)

Hi All,

Driven the car a bit now. Fuel pump is working a treat.

Another surprise benefit I didn't give much thought to, no more fuel smell. It's 100% gone.

Weather is supposed to be a little cooler next week so looking forward to putting some k's on the car!

Regards,

Trent

Fuel smell is probably the main reason I want to do mine. Have you seen this? Just popped up on my feed the other day...

Holley have followed on from the fuel mat and now offer a full universal drop-in pump for conversions...

Hey Anth,

Looks like a great bit of kit, take a look at it for sure. It might be a little pricey in the end though. Let us know how you progress though.

Cheers,

Trent

Any reason why it was difficult Trent?
Does the fuel level sender work?

Definitely keen on going for a run soon. It's been too long.

Hey Nik,

I made a crude swirlpot and welded it in, i couldnt get my welder to agree on a setting that didnt blow holes in it.

To be honest probably the biggest issue was trying to do it in 30deg weather :) other than that it was pretty straight forward. I used the new fuel sensor however it would be very easy to get the factory one to work.

Lets go! I have today off :)

Hi All,

Another great track day in the Datsun yesterday @ Sandown. Was quite warm so didnt get my best times. Having said that car performed beautifully with the new in-tank fuel pump setup.

I took the RS and the Datsun. I did one session in the RS, it just doesnt handle as well as the Datsun. It's a different class.

Unfortunately I dont have any video this time round. Will definitely have some on the next track day.

Hi All,

Report back on the in-tank pump. 100% the best thing I did. The old pumps are gone, less weight :), Less noise, no fuel temp issues! Even on a high 30's day!

I have kept it pretty full so im not 100% sure if my gauge is working yet :) Will have to run it down...

More mods happening this weekend. Ticket off some of the big annoyances I have had over the year, this one isnt complicated just a pain to do.

Cheers,

Trent

Might have to do the in tank pump next then. Sounds like a good thing!

Hey Ross,

Yeas highly recommend it!

Had some Datto time this weekend.

Finally did some work on my radiator and intercooler! Added a brand new Merc overflow bottle for the rad as well.

Took everything out, cleaned it up and painted it. Then added some new neoprene for the IC and for the radiator. I 3d printed a handy little tool that held a razor blade and let me cut an accurate line down the center of the neoprene which was then used around the lip I made on the rad support. Worked a treat and held on beautifully. Some pics below :)
