After a little digging around I've found that the Golf VR6 Mk3 97 to 04 is ment to be the rotor to use but the problem I've found is the DB825 part listed on the supercheapautos web site list it as a 5 stud rotor?
Quote:
"Golf VR6 Mk3 From SW 400 00194 - 97ProtexV.W. GOLF FRONT 94-97DR835$53.95FRONT:Front TYPE:Vented DIAMETER:280 HEIGHT:28.2 THICKNESS MAX:22 THICKNESS MIN.:20 CENTRE DIAM.:65 NO. OF STUDS:5"
I have a set of 240K coilovers in the shed but they came without any brakes. Bolt space on the ears are 90mm so I am guessing I can get the dog bones made up the same as you would on a 200B strut?

Thoughts?

True, the Golf rotors are 5 stud, I got them re-drilled to 4 stud to mount them to my 200B hubs, in the rotor under method [behind the hub]
What you need to confirm is the OFFSET of the caliper mounting ears to the rear face of the hub so that the rotor and caliper are in the correct relation ship.
I can measure my 200B setup so you can compare.
I've never worked with 240K struts so I haven't any specs. on them.
The dog bones can be machined to vary the offset so they are adjustable so to speak

Well 24TKman, if you're serious, I can supply you with a CAD drawing of the Dog Bone.
I must emphasize that as designed it is for 200B struts to the Mazda RX7 caliper to the Golf rotor.
However it can be "adjusted" by some mm to cater for different offsets.
First things first, make up a dummy from ply or similar to ensure that everything lines up OK before you pays a man to make the metal adaptor :chaching: :chaching:

Pic. quality is a bit poor but you can see the wooden mockup bolted in.

The Golf rotor has a zero "hat" dimension and the distance from the outside of the rotor face to the wheel face is 40mm.
This give maximum space to accommodate the caliper.
The Mazda calipers are VERY wide.
You will also need a 15" wheel minimum to fit over this conversion

Also, the rotors have to be re-drilled as mentioned above, but NOT to the 114.3mm PCD of the wheels, the HUB mounting bolt circle PCD is smaller.

Mate if you could check the offset of the ears to the hub for me that would be great.
I just need to dig up some hubs to use as my 510 is in Sydney getting the new exhaust and inlet manifold done and I want to get this done before it comes back to I can bolt the struts and brakes in and finish other jobs.

Any chance you could send me the Cad drawing?

I'll PM the file to you, hopefully it will work.
I've found that PMs are a bit iffy lately.
If you put an email addy in your signature it might be better, or if you want privacy, send me an email and I'll reply.
I'll do some measuring over the weekend and send you what my setup requires.
Those Golf rotors have sure dropped in $$ since I got them

Golf Mk3 GTi - VR6 4/94 - 7/95 DBA 835

Others may also be suitable but the conversion as designed uses these rotors.
