HI ALL,

There is actualy another company that is remaking that style of rim in a forged three peice that is going to be stronger than the original Simmons were. They will have a slight variation in the design of the outer lip that will be a cleaner finish, and the actual material of the outer lip is going to be a lot easier to clean and keep clean as apposed to the polished alloy version.

Old news. You can walk into Tempe Tyres now and put and order down for the remakes. They don't quite look the same but I've heard they are trying to get them looking closer to the originals.

Here is what they look like & more info here...

apparantly tempe tyres have bought out all the tools from simmons and will be producing 3 piece simmons wheels at a way better price then previously from simmons.

wanna know what's old guys??? a Datsun 1600 with gold, silver, black or polished FR 17 simmons. been done sooooooooooooooooooooooo many times now. Get over it.

i was gutted when i found out simmons closed down. Then i found some FR17's in canberra, but the guy sold them on me the day before i was due to pick them up. but now i think to myself, thank f%ck i didnt buy them.
do yourself a favour.. spend a friday evening searching the web for rims. There are plenty of better style rims out there. maybe you should think about doing something different which might win you a trophy at a show, instead of looking like every other dato and not even copping a second glance.

that's my opinion anyway. if you dont like it, i dont care keyboard warrior.

That means producing them offshore, which is not a bad thing, just have to have good quality control and reputable factories producing them.
