I'd like to know that also, striking out cars with engine conversions would leave a lot of people out of the scheme. From the PDF:
Quote:
It is expected that these changes, which include a new
street rod inspection scheme and improved definitions of
‘replica’ and ‘modified’ vehicles, will be implemented after
February 2011.
I'd love to find out more info.

What's a years club rego worth compared to normal rego?

What do they class as an 'engine conversion'? Would a 1600 with an L20B be covered? I believe that technically you do need an engineer's certificate for that.

From the way I read it the car must be in roadworthy condition at all times. Any conversion be it brakes or engine will require a engineers certificate according to vicroads. This is policed by the club. Nothing about the scheme has really changed except you are able to drive max 90 days a year and there is no ristrictions as to the cars use (apart from commercial gain).

If you have spare time just go see a club rep and see what they say and if they give you a signed sheet , run to VR to get the plates/lbook if not they will tell you what specific requirements for your own car and I doubt they will charge you $$ I didnt pay although I offered too!

IMO obtaining engineers isnt that much of an issue really considering the money you will save longterm in cheap rego and insurance costs and most of you guys with sr's have them over enginnered anyways

that is unbelievable, im looking into it. The only bummer is the plates. custom plates give the car a name almost, there will be lots of same same white 1600s with club plates floating around now. What colour are they?
