Can't wait till you work your magic on this one trav! Looks like a bit of work to get it up to your white one, but looks the goods.

yellow works well if you are very detailed, you mustn't have any overspray at all and chrome and rubbers must be mint.
Il be right thanks mate, Ive never been a big fan of the floor mount pedal, il sort something out.

Spent some time on the Datto today. Had a helper with me, Thanks Matt
We pulled the front struts out and swapped them left to right as the caliper was hard against the tie rod nut. Wilst the struts were out we thought what a good oppertunity to bring the car a bit closer to earth, so out came the grinder. The front looked so much better so the rear end copped the same treatment. Il get some proper springs under it one day
Also fitted up the new wheels, and fitted some more period mirrors.

Ahh Travis!! You know how I feel about cut springs...

But I do like it looking better like that. PS. do you know anyone local who can TIG weld a radiator up for me? I may need to customize one, i'm struggling to find a decent rad for the front of mine.

After going down to the Datnats on Saturday i had plenty of insperation, so i got stuck into the Datto yesterday, pulled the donk out and stripped the engine bay. Next thing on the list is to pull the front guards off becouse i just know that if i leave them on il drop paint stripper on them for sure, then pull the front end out and get stuck into it with the paint stripper. Ive got a shitload of holes to weld up, Its had its fair share of engine conversions over the years all requiring new holes drilled and there not small ones either.
This is going to be a wiring nightmare when it all goes back together, there is so much crap thats been added to this thing over the past 40 years its not funny, might even try and find another engine bay harness to work with. Its all good fun though

Looks like you have a bit of work ahead of you Trav. Should be a bit of fun though! Even if it's half as nice as your last one I think you'll have a very nice cruiser.

Thanks mate, yeah going to go down the same path with the engine bay as the white one, as smooth and clean as possible.

Did a bit more to it today. Removed the battery tray to find some rust, ive cut it out just need to weld a new piece in. It kinda worked out well as i wanted to smooth out the indent anyway. Slowly paint stripping and filling holes as i go.

Wasnt happy with the design of the firewall drain, so i cut it out and started making a new one. The main drain section is done just have to finish of the bottom section were it meets the trans tunnel. Still dont know weather or not to cover the drain with a plate to completely smooth it out.
