hey all just went to change my drag link over and noticed when i tried to do it back up the joint on the idler arm just spins makeing it impossible to do back up, just wanted to make sure this is not ment to happen before i get a new one cheers

If the ball joint keeps turning and you can't get the ball joint nut to "take" try using a clamp to squeeze the BJ taper into the socket on the cross rod.
One thing you have to make sure of though, is that the thread on the BJ stud is clean and undamaged.
If you can't run the nut all the way down the thread with your fingers, the thread has to be repaired.

You didn't mushroom the end of the BJ stud when you pulled the joint apart did you :tsktsk: :tsktsk:

Yep just clamp the two arms together as well as you can and try and do it up, might need to pull it out and clean up the thread a little bit with a file, run a tap through the nut and/or use a bit of lubricant if you get desperate.

cheers guys, nope didnt mushroom it, i gave the drag link a tap instead of the ball joint thread on the idler arm when i pulled the drag link off, ill give it ago tomorrow and let you know how i go, cheers
