At least give him a partial credit for trying to organize a cruise. Even if it is is a 2 hour cruise to get to the cruise for a bit of a cruise followed by another cruise home...

I think a good cruise would be a western suburbs Mad Max pilgrimage to all the sights around Hoppers etc. A few stops or a couple anyway, hang sh*t on Maysie, then grab lunch. A perfect day.

Havent been on a datto cruise in like 4 years since buying a house and becoming a dad. However have been cruising, well i call it bashing, around the bush with a few 4x4 clubs as of late.

And yes a western subs cruise would be nice and close for me :) Datto is in getting road worthied today/tomorrow and then rego'd when i get time. After that any weekend is good for me.... and since Alistair just bought himself a 13b turbo RX2 i recon a cruise is defintely in order :)

Revhead,
All those maddmax spots are kind of cool, but boring as batshit.
Give me some twisty roads!

I say Reefton Spur or Black Spur or (for that matter any bloody "spur" lol).... even the road after the reefton pub is good and bugger all roads come off it for 40k's.

Definetly up for the reefton spur. And then you can come back on the black spur.

Id say the reefton spur is one off my favourite twistie road yet

Chum Creek Road isn't bad either, a bit bumpy in spots but no traffic like the spurs.

Chum Creek road shits on the Black Spur so hard. Black Spur is overrated!

only if there aren't any cars on the road and it isn't raining.

Glad it's not just me who dreads getting stuck behind some F&*kwit doing 20km/h on a straight stretch of road because it's raining. MUPPETS.
I drove the 1600 rain, hail or shine to the conditions. Loved every minute of it. Pity no one else does :(

What annoys me is that there's plenty of opportunities for people to pull over and let traffic pass them in the allocated spots, but hardly anyone does it.
