would anyone be up for doing the grand ridge road?? Though its a hike and a half to get there and then its not really sutable to people with showy cars as its not completly sealed.... :( to its a good drive, maybe ill try organise a camping trip in summer or somthing.

Yeah I was gonna add that.... Caravan doing 20k's and ignoring all the slow vehicle pull outs... I do understand now though with owning an RB30 Powered 2 ton Patrol, If they were to pull over they'd never get going again.

Could be a possibility Wisey. If not, I drive the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road every day home from work so that's another possibility? I'll go for a drive around one night if people are keen and find a good route to take. There are some nice roads (with a couple of bumps) and we could find somewhere to stop for lunch. It means all of the Melbournians wouldn't need to drive to far out.

my mate who came on the buxton cruise lives on the mount dandy tourist road and il definetly give it a vote. not in his rickety old brumby though. olinda has a really good pizza shop and rickets reserve is nice to look at. there is also an arburetem not sure of spelling but it is a tree museum good for riding motor bikes through late at night.

every time i go through the christmas hills there is a car load of middle aged women going 20k the whole way. they never pull over and if theres an overtaking area the seem to floor it. needless to say i just turn on my highbeams to pass the time.

I love those roads up there, used to take to long way home from work every now and then... Hahaha one time the cops followed me up to the top of Mt Dandy and back again from Ferntree Gully but didn't actually pull me over till I got home to Ringwood... Apparently I was doing 180k's through most of it but they couldn't do me for speeding as they didn't have a radar... It was a crock of sh*t, i woulda hit 150 tops... But yeah they harrased me for a good 2 hours trying to get me to admit it amognst other things.

jturn180, are you going to want a seat in my car for this upcoming 1200 cruise? There are plenty to go around, I could probably take all the active members of this forum in the car at once!
