Some good progress...the new starter arrived and for a moment I thought they'd sent the wrong one. A very modern looking unit. Put it in and it fits and works just fine. This new one sounds so different to any I've ever had on my car before. :woohoo:

The efi is now moving forward...again. I restarted the software from scratch and took it for a spin. A bit lean here and a bit rich there but it runs and will get better with time. Only problem is, there's not much time left before going down to PI...

I can't wait for the Nationals! :D

I"ve made a booking for the coupe to see the suspension doctor.

First visit was to Pedders suspensions. The manager there, in a nutshell, suggested I go search Japanese websites for more information which wasn't all that helpful to me right here right now.

I went to Jim Hunter Suspensions in Blacktown and I got a completely different response. Needless to say, its booked in for a front spring upgrade. I've got waaaay too much lean and despite the HD front sway bar on the car atm, it's the springs which are waaay too soft for cornering confidence.

The chap at JHS will weigh the car, measure the old springs and calculate the rate of the new springs....a totally custom spring will be built for my application. :D I will make sure I'll grab the specs for anyone else who wants a set out there. A complete drive in and drive out operation, will take around a week and will cost $400.00 bucks. Im happy with that! :D

Can't wait for the next track day! (I know one was on today but I put the entry fee towards the new springs.)

Lowered HQ V8 fronts and a wagon swaybar :P

That's good value for money though.

You can use cut xf springs if you want something harder. I think Ray fitted some kind of laurel front swaybar to his also. the front is flat as round corners

Springs are done!

Will pick up the coupe tomorrow AM and pay only $385.00!!

The koni's weren't adjusted but were deemed to be in the right position as they were. Ok. Good!

The rate is up 35%. Asking them for the full specifications, I was told no, that information remains with the company that built them, JHS. So if anyone else wants 'em, JHS is happy to build them a set.

I'll give some feedback as soon as I can after I take the car for a test run. Can't wait now.

BTW, took the car for bit of a drive to try the front springs out. :)

Well behaved, a little bit chopier but not harsh, and a great turn in without anywhere near the roll it had before. I haven't pushed it yet but so far so good.

Theoretically, the heavier front springs (540 vs 400) may induce some understeer but I haven't noticed anything yet.

Pretty good so far... :D
