Around the corner we go...rolling around the corner more like it! Supersprint soon at SMP, can't wait to see how the new front springs go and what difference they make. I'm also looking into something for the rears too, I'll keep you posted.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it is only the chrome surrounds that are different. I just bought the remaining two.

I have a left reflector on the right side!

Does anyone wanna swap a right one for a left one?

I bought a set of these for the rear leaf springs. :P

I'm thinking that I might be able to set these buggars up to help with load carrying and improved cornering ability based on how 'tightly' the spring helpers are bolted on.

I have a 22mm rear bar on the white car that I could swap over but I might bite the bullet and get another one made, one with a bigger hump to take in the Ford centre that will sit in there eventually.

It has to be with Heath, he is the one who has two right side reflectors :|

hope these work out for you. Had some mixed results on some of our work vehicles with these

Well, the helpers arrived and I put them in. There is some contact with the spring end on the chassis rail above it because the car is lowered, the leaf springs sit very flat from front to back. To stop the thump which was metal to metal contact, I slipped on a piece of heater hose over the contact point. I'll see how that goes. First impressions are good, the car corners nice and flat but its hard to tell on public streets these days.

Next week is track day. I'll see how it goes out there. Cant wait. :giggle:

Nah, today was far too wet to get the car on the track and give it some.

My mate in his 180sx thought he'd give it a try. One lap later he was in. Poor bastard spun it near turn 4 and that ended his day. Panel damage both front and rear. That was enough for us both, so we packed up and went home. :?

Soon...

Something strange was happening to the coupe. For extended driving trips, the oxy sensor would show my mixtures leaning out. On the highway, it was causing lean surge and I wanted to find out why.

I opened the boot to take some stuff out and felt that the swirl pot was quite warm, not really hot, but a long way from cool. I'd plumbed the return line back to the swirl pot and not the tank. The reason was that I wouldn't need the low pressure Carter pump to be as big as the EFI high pressure pump in terms of flow. The trade off is a loop is created. The fuel can cycle, picking up heat from the engine bay on its way around.

I thought about a cooler with a fan in the boot but I decided that I needed to get to the root of the problem. Check the convoluted tube that was sitting 20cms above the extractors and protecting the wires to the TPS. Meltdown. The fuel rail sits right above the switch. Can anybody say "heatsoak"

I decided to make a heatshield. Nothing very special about it but I drilled some holes for the wires to pass through and a bit of pinchweld on the edges to prevent cut hands, hoses, wires etc.

I'll see how it goes. I'll go to the drags next week on Wednesday and see how he runs. Not really the right test but what the hell, I'm on holidays atm! :woohoo:

New wheels for the coupe. Fronts are 16x6.5 and rears are 16x8.0

I'm going to slap on 225/45 and 245/45 Toyo Proxes R888 for the track.

Can't wait to pick em up this weekend!

Toyo's for the front!

I've bought new 15mm spacers for the front hubs. The 20mm one on there will probably be alright but the new tyres are a lot wider than the 205 Dunlops and the offset is a bit different too. Just a bit of margin.

Rear end issues. The rear was leaning heavily on the track and you could feel it. The 16mm rear sway bar wasn't cutting the mustard since the front was reworked. I was going to take the 22mm rear bar off the white car but I worked hard to get that machine to handle the way I wanted it for the street. I have a spare 16mm bar on the shelf that I'll take to Jim Hunter suspensions and get them to make me up a thicker one. The ride height is also too high at the rear due to the helpers but I think I might have a solution for that.

Can't really set the height on the back til the 245's are on the rims. I ideally want to set up the car so it's sitting nice n flat all around. Can't wait!
