So i made a buffing wheel today... got a piece of rag (old bedsheet), folded it up so there was about 16 layers then put a hole in the middle and used a nut, bolt and washers to hold them all together, then i cut an even circle around the screw about 5 inches in diameter.
I found a stick of compound so i used that, worked pretty well too!
i did a rough job on part of a R160 cover

Look at the difference!

Should do an alright job on parts when i put more time into them

Also i have a 240z steering wheel on the way :)

A little trick is to use some 1500 or 2000 grit (wet rub) before you buff the parts. They'll come up tops with less buffing effort.

Soo i have recently acquired 2 68 model dashes!

One with 68 model dash and an absolutely WRECKED dashpad

[ img ]

And the other has a 69 model cluster with the clock option! (might have to scrap the tacho idea).
The dashpad is also original and PERFECT!.

[ img ]

I have alot of early dash parts and am going to mix and match to make up a nice looking dash, not sure whether i will find an old radio or stick with the blanking plate.

your dcoe45 13 is an Italian made weber and has 2 progression holes i think, the dcoe45 152 is a late model spanish made weber and has 3 progression holes. i dont think you will be able to get them to work together. were they purchased as a working set? you may have to find either a 13 or a 152 to make a matching set and sell the one you dont need.

Yeah I'm only using one and selling the other, the 152 has made in Italy stamped on it. I also believe it has 3 progression holes being a 152, I'll have a look. Thanks
Edited with a pic
I bought as a pair

Coming along Nicely Trav, I think she'll be a fine beast when you get her on the road. I say leave the blanking plate, they're uncommon! Who needs a stereo when you have Webers and a nice exhaust? Or if you get bored just hide it in the glove box or under the dash somewhere.

Thanks mate, I wont actually start working on it until the stanzas on the road and the new shed is up, will be a long term project. Yeah I was thinking I might keep the blanking plate, I might even just run an amp with AUX and plug my iPhone directly into that.
