I've just managed to score a well kept SSS Dash for my 71' 1600.

I'm looking to update the dash cluster (i.e. remove the old) with either a VDO gauge kit from Datsport or something similar.

Does anyone have experience/ advice they can offer in doing this conversion?

I'm particularly interested in mounting details as well as any other helpful advice you can offer,
Cheers

I done a Autometer one in mine
I had to cut the back out with a Dremel and cutting wheel so the gauges would sit flush and just Glued them in .

Thanks for the tip (sorry about the late reply).

So now I've got everything in the dash sitting pretty.
One more question. The FJ20 runs a worm drive cable out of the gearbox. What did you use to remove the cable and get an electronic signal back to the speedo :-?

I believe the go is s13 sr20 5 speed sender.

I have the same issue, autometer speedo but rb20 gearbox behind fj20 with a cable speedo

I haven't fitted the sender yet but have one that I intend to fit in the next few days so I'll update when I do on the outcome

Just need to calibrate the speedo to the sender which should be simple enough to get it accurate using a GPS

Hi There,

What have you done with all the old factory guages and the cluster looms from the SSS dash?
