What is going on with datsun prices on eBay lately??
A 120 y rally car for 25 grand! A sunny for 15 grand!! And every part listed seems to have doubled in the last year.
It just seems to be way overpriced.
Getting old I guess.....

They are getting harder to find due to age. There arnt many datsuns on carsales etc thesedays.
Check other cars prices like Rx3's, monaro's and torana's. They are all going up.
To be fair that 120y seems to be an old works type rally car so might have some nostalgic racing value.
To me its still a 120y tho. HA

Well, an "original" ( grandfathers axe) Mk2 Ex works factory Ford Escort sells at $150,000, it has been re-engined twice, and re-bodied twice, not so original!
But it s a trick engine (BDA Twin cam) and all the super go fast stuff.
Geez!
Versus,
The original, as built FJ24 engined all trick Nissan comp stuff, blah blah, big brakes, huge history, never re-shelled, etc, ex George Fury Datsun rally car, selling at $90,000

What'd you prefer , reliability and better performance, or an Escort that will cost you a bomb to keep running, as many rally guys are finding out.

Those dayglo orange Brock coomodore race cars, the real ones, sell for $500,000 plus.
What's history worth?
The 120Y at $25 k, is a twice re-shelked ex Factory car, (iwato mitshashima-Southern Cross rally, mid 1970's) not very original.

5K? really? i bought my original poo brown rolling shell stocker with a full set of doors, glass and extra panels for 2K.

it's not even in high fill, actually no where near it.
