Hi all, probably a stupid question but i cant bleed my rear brake circuit.
A quick search got me nothing.
7/8 m/c
After the nationals i pulled the m/c out for a pull down and clean.
Blew all the old fluid out of the lines and cleaned out the callipers.
Put it all back together and i cant get anything from the rears.
Dou you need to somehow prime the m/c?
I cant ever remember doing anything fancy before.
The fronts bled ok but the rears have nothing.
When you crack the master bleed valve and push the pedal you can feel air being pushed out but no fluid to follow?
Also what does the small bolt in bwtween the 2 brake lines do? I figured it had something to do with holding the rear circuit piston in place?
Do you have to do anything with this?
Could i have put the m/c back together wrong?
Thanks
Andrew

You may have reversed one of the seals in the rear MC circuit.
What type is it?
Did you follow a manual when you re-assembled it?
MCs do indeed benefit from bench bleeding prior to fitting to the car.

The small screw in the middle is a piston stop for the firewall end piston.

Not sure what type or p/n it is. All i did was pull the front circuit piston out and clean everything with brake cleaner and compressed air.
Definately didnt follow a manual. Just put back the bits that i pulled out.
Ill give it another go on Sat and failing that ill pull the master out and apart again.
Thanks

Could be that you have a blockage in the line somewhere? I had that issue when I did my new lines, must have had a bit of grit in there. Have you tried opening the bleed screws for the rear brakes and giving the pedal a few firm quick pumps to see if you can force pressure down the line?

I had to remove and bench bleed the master when I first set mine up.

Problem solved. I drilled the end of a syringe to 3mm, wedged some boost guage line in, wedged the other end in the bleed nipple and injected fluid through. Primed up and they bled fine. Thanks
