hi all, just got myself a 1200 ute and signed up on here for some support on it as im previously a mazda man. im a member of ausrotary forum, so i hope you guys are as helpful and easy going as them!

its a bit of a long story, but basically ive aquired it and as far as i know, its a 1200cc, twin webbers and a 5 speed. its got a roll bar on the tray and its pretty rusty, i was just going to give it a tune up and a tidy up as its been sitting for a few years in a shed. im thinking of a quick and lovely paint job, reverse scoop, some wheels and cruise it.

i think im able to score a set of TRX wheels cheap off a guy, are they a bolt on thing?

ill get some pics up soon as i pick it up...

Twin webbers and 5 speed sounds nice!
TRX wheels arent very sought after as alot of people dislike them and they are pretty common, but yes they are a bolt on thing

so... i took some photos of it today, its pretty rusty unfortunatley, the roll bar is pretty ugly... ive been told the motor was reco'ed about 5000kms ago... they are 40mm webbers, looks like there are extractors under there maybe?

can anyone tell by looking at it if its the stock 1200 motor?

Hey Mik.. good to see you have gotten yourself a 1200!.. should build this up instaed of your rx/808 :P

Looks like you have had a good find, the webbers themselves would be wo0rth a few bob on there own.. and yep it has extractors.
Im not sure how to tell if its still the a12 just from looking at it.. have a look at the engine number if you can find it, should have a12/a14/a15 etc

Looks like a good base for a cruiser. Considering its an early ute given away by the angle of the battery tray and it still has external regulator i would say its an A12 (No promises).Though many i come across are mix and match, for example yours has a plastic grille which were in later model utes but also on early coupes. Can i have/buy the Tori sitting behind it ?
