welds aren't perfect but still needs a fine skim of filler but its better than the rusted out lower section that was on it :giggle:

Doors are hung and all in etch primer I wanted to sort all the gaps out before getting too far ahead of myself!
Rear qtrs are both in highbuild primer
Need to finish repairing the bootlid, guards, bonnet, front apron, then start on the engine bay
I think I have decided to paint it antartica white :)
I purchased this car with every intent of it being a project car but bloody hell the rust was worse than I thought and its just been so time consuming when I only work on it in uni holidays

Had a bit of a mess around fitting the front guard that I cut and shut the lower section on and fitted an unmolested door that I picked up a while ago. progress is slow but it will get there eventually

When the rain stops the LH sill and door jams will be primed in high build. also picked up a SSS grille which i will clean up eventually :woohoo:
Back to uni in a few weeks and I worked the majority of the holidays on a farm so the 1600 has had hardly any love

Had been thinking about doing a sss replica for a while. vent and boot badges are reproduction. Picked up the mint sss cluster and dash for a bargain price of $450 have seen crappy condition gauges alone sell for 200 plus. The seat recliners came out of a 69' deluxe myself and a friend saved from a farm for $50 each. I will more than likely paint them black

Next purchase will be a sss steering wheel and dash loom to suit the gauges. No I didn't need these parts for a standard 1600 build but if i am going to spend the time and effort I may aswell put some nice parts on it. No other real updates apart from the fact I finish my uni degree in 6 weeks and can focus on this thing for a few solid months prior to getting a job 8)
