We all know and love them but are they legal? since there isn't an amber section for the indicator

Dont get me wrong if I can use them I will just dont want to spend the coin to find I cant use them

Let's just say no they're not legal, and you can then just sell them to me
But seriously, I would assume it's ok, but doesn't it depend on the age of the car, and if they were standard when the car was produced?
I'm looking for a better quality pair of them for my coupe, but mine came with them new, so I'm sure it'll be fine.
Shoesmith told me he's been followed by police while indicating in his and he's been fine.
Might be a question for the authorities??

Reckon it would depend on the cop to be honest. A young-un may not know if they were standard or not and leave it. An older one having a bad day may decide to ruin yours as well if they're suss on it

Check with the Roads Authority in your state to be sure although I think if the lights flash when you indicate it might be okay

They're perfectly legal for imports.

However cars designed for sale in Australia must conform with the ADRs (which include amber indicators). But there is a bit of a hole in it that allows American vehicles to be used in Aus that can keep the red tail lights.

So bottom line is that no, you're not allowed to fit them to an Australian vehicle, but you can have them on your SSS Jap import. That's the technicality - But I wouldn't let it stop you as the difference between the 1600s of different origins are very little (so it is hard to tell whether it is imported or not).
