Melbourne 27th Novermber Cruise For Charity.

Seeing as it's mens health month coming up, The goth chick and I have decided during the awesome fun of the last cruise to see if we can organise a cruise to raise some money to donate to a nominated charity. At this stage we will donate any raised moneys to Movember.

There will be snags and drinks. The finer details are yet to be decided.

The cost will be a donation of some sort, we were thinking around a minimum of $10 per person. For your money you will get a snag in bread, your choice of sauce and a can of sort drink. Whatever gets donated. And the satisfaction that you will be making a donation to a charity. There will be extra snags available for purchase if you're hungry. All money raised will go to charity

The plan is. Starting East at Templestowe Reserve and heading North East in a round about sort of way to head North to Yan Yean Recreational Reserve. There we will fire up the barbie and cook the snags. Then after a snack we can head West tip toeing around Sunbury and head towards Historic Woodlands Reserve in Greenvale for a final meet and greet.

We would like to note that we want to have a Cruise and not a Race. You have to be held responsible for your own driving actions. There are some narrow roads and 3 single lane bridges. there are some good driving spots for responsible fun and spectacular views. The goth chick and I drove it today (29/10/2011) and we feel the road condition is acceptable for pretty much any car.

It would be great if people could register their interest so that we can organise food and refreshments for everyone involved.

Stage 1. Meeting at Templestowe Reserve Melways ref 33 G3 @ 10am. Departing at 11am sharp.

You and that goth chic. This should be a great cruise and for an excellent cause as well. I will be arranging for a friend to bring one of my other cars along, just so that I can be in a Datsun and get an extra attendant. More to the point I will sporting a terrible moustache. Stay tuned for more details.

I will be posting this on AusRotary tonight and will be asking a friend to let Rollaclub know. Considering our plans we're hoping to get quite a few cars to attend.

Proposed 2nd drive. From Yan Yean Resivior to Woodlands Historic Park in Grenvale.

Alternative A. 62km odd.

Alternative B. 95km odd.

Which to choose?

On Gellies Rd there will be a slow drive by at the old bridge to pay homage to 'Johhny the Boy' who Mad Max blew up at the end of the first Mad Max movie.

Option B would be good, it would allow two lanes of driving and photo opportunities.

I know that Donnybrook Rd has a bridge going over the Hume now, Can anyone say for sure if you can still access the Shell servo and turn onto Donnybrook on that route? It's been a while since I've been that way. Surely the giant VB can still lives at Kal...

I checked on the Melways and it lists an offramp to access Donnybrook so that's not a problem and at Kal there is a servo before the giant VB can with a subway so a mid way fuel stop for anyone who is using too much fuel.

So are you not coming Dan? I was looking forward to showing you my rear plates with the awesome power of the thou.

Hi folks

Long time lurker, first time poster.. I am with the toyota car club and as it turns out we are organising a japanese car show n shine on the same date as this.

I have just posted the details here

http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=26779

Its rather ambitious for a new bloke to ask, but if you wanted to include the show some how in your cruise that would be awesome!

Cheers

Adam
