so i recently posted a topic asking what my struts nd brakes are on my 1600 and i was told they are 240k struts and brakes but i took the calliper to place here on the goldy to get a rebuild kit for and he couldnt figure out what one kit i need. as u can see they are sumitomo callipers but i cant find any info about them on the net. they do have the same brake pads as the 240k.

also whats the best whay to get the pistons out?

+1. 240k

to get the pistons out you have to undo the bolts and split the calliper.

To get the pistons out, just apply compressed air to the inlet connection.
Put a piece of wood in the middle so that the piston[s] don't get damaged.

From my trusty PBR Cattledog: -
Years 9/73 -1974 Minor Kit K918S
Years 1974 - 11/75 Minor Kit K618S
Years 12/75 - 9/76 Minor Kit K1184S
Doesn't list pistons but if you take the whole kit and kaboodle to your local ABS workshop, they will inspect the pistons and advise if they need replacement.
Usually, any scratch or pitting that you can catch your fingernail on, is unserviceable - new parts required :(
Some shops are using composite pistons now instead of the hard chrome steel ones

ive pulled apart single piston 240k/200b brakes and they have the same size pistons as the twin opposing piston callipers IIRC

If you split them you will need to buy the little sealing rings that sit in the grooves of each caliper to get them to seal properly again.

They are usually included in the seal kit.
The clamping bolts are done up really tight though :(

Yep 240Z's used the same calipers. You'll need a good impact gun to undo the bolts. I ain't talkin about anything to can buy from supercheap either.
