One tip is dont use a cap higher than 1 bar or the seals in the end tanks will be damaged.
Chris, (or anyone else), I'm curious to know where you got the value of 1 bar (14.5psi) from?
I always thought the 735 radiator could run up to double that? (2 bar or 29 psi)
Most of the Nismo caps run at 1.3 bar

Hey Nik,

I suspect the 2 bar figure for the 735 is absolute pressure. I had a 1 bar cap on and when I put a volvo competition one on to chase better cooling after 5+ track laps (1.3 bar) shortly after one of the end tank seals started leaking.

Since I put an oil cooler on, the cooling issue is completely resolved.

Thanks Chris. The age old guage -vs- absolute pressure conundrum. I reckon you are correct.

From memory the Volvo black cap is 0.75bar. I'm probably going to put in a 0.9 and fit my oil cooler.
Then wait for the next weakest link in the chain to come up.

Just called Wayne from "Cool it" and he said he's had about 4 Datsun guys call him recently looking for one of these radiators but they no longer make them, so he can't help. I tried quoting the part number to a couple of shops here in Perth and it doesnt even come up on their system anymore.

I ran an M3 one so it was a bit different but Imparts had them on the shelf.
