A mate of mine, Dave, who has yet to announce what he has lurking in his shed, suggested the other day that we, Cedric owners and since there are enough of us now, plan some sort of annual event that focuses on all the Cedric models that people own. Judging by who's on this site now and those that have these cars but haven't yet posted (Dave!), there's quite a few of us.

I'm thinking along the lines of Easter 2013 as the first time at some venue to be decided, make it a two or three day thing where it's worth everybody's while to come up, down and across to ? Sydney. This venue could be up for negotiations each year so it's not always the same people who have to travel to get to them. The accomodation would be decided by the venue of course.

Events could be something like a swap meet, show and shine with some trophies ie Furthest travelled, best original, modified, etc, a rally where we get to travel around and do things/time trial, a visit to some significant landmark for a photo shoot, evening dinner at some venue like Outback Jacks and chill time where we all get to sit around and chew the Cedric Fat! Do we want to make it family friendly? Of course I would like too and we could factor that into the agenda with some time for the wives and kids.

But I would like to see at this point how many of us could attend such an event...does the date suit or is Easter a bad time...tell me all. I want/need to know so we could create an event that people want to come back too. I want this to be the biggest gathering of these cars ever seen outside of Japan. How awesome would that be :hail:

At the moment this is all talk...nothing is set in concrete. Get back to me and tell me what you want and I'll see if I can't make it work. It's up to you guys now.

Cheers, Mark.

Gday mark, mate you sure are passionate about you Cedrics, this is a great idea, it
would be mad to get a group photo of all the cars/guy's here that post on the site,
even if the logistics of hosting our own event are too difficult perhaps we could crash/join in with someone relevent? either way im in......... :D

I am interested in this notion.

I'm sad to address though, that Drew's immaculate 230 sedan will probably be getting sold shortly, so we will need to convince more people to buy Cedrics in the meantime to compensate for him (or perhaps guilt him into keeping it/buying another one soon?)

I'd be interested in going. Although the Datsun Nationals are on the same weekend in Melbourne.

Count me in too,if its within a reasonable distance from my home,eg a days drive (8 hours or so).
