Hi folk I am restoring a fibreglass hardtop for a fairlady. I have bogged up the cracks in the gel coat but now need to sand the bog before I send to a spray painter. I am spraying the roof in two pack. I have heard two pack can react with the wrong primer or guide coat paint. Do I use enamel or acrylic paint for the guide coat before I spray in two pack. Hope someone can help.

You'll be fine with a single pack guide coat as you are only using a mist of it. Most of it will be rubbed off when sanding anyway.

you might find that enamel will clog your sandpaper real quick. i always use acrylic for a guide coat unless i use a 2 pack hifill primer that is tintable.
