Hey Guys,

Unfortunately the previous owner installed an aftermarket headunit and has made a bit of a mess out of it.
I'm a novice, so please bare with me.

He's made a mess of the wiring and the problem is; As soon as I turn the key in accessories my parkers and taillights stays on, the fuse for the brake lights/horn blow whenever I try and insert a new fuse. The big problem is because there is a short and I can't get a fuse in there, my brake lights doesn't work.

I've checked the wiring for the head unit, and at the moment now, there's only a constant wire directly from the battery and a ground wire connected. Can I rule that out as the problem?

I've taken a few pictures of some wires that aren't connected and I was hoping that you guys can help me identify them, this is a 1980 200b.

I don't have the money to take it to a professional auto electrician so ideally I'd like to solve the problem privately so any help will be appreciated.
Again, I am a rookie, so any other suggestion or advice will be appreciated.

Try using a 12V globe across the fuse terminals.
That will glow when there is a current draw but it won't allow the short circuit to cause a fire.
Then you can disconnect the relevant wiring fed from that fuse and see if the globe still stays on or goes out.
Any dodgy wiring should also be checked for any bare wires or pinched wires.
Also I advise you to strip out all that head unit wiring.
I'm sure we can do better than THAT!

Yeah don't leave us hanging like that haha

Ozdat members don't want $100 anyway. They wouldn't know what to do with that much money

Malfunction. Need Input.

Was on TV last week. Watched it. Hadn't seen it since the 80's and didn't remember any of it. Did a bit of googleing while it was on.

Found out the Syd Mead (famous Sci Fi artist: Star trek, blade runner, tron, Aliens, 2010, ) did the original design sketches of the Johnny robots.

I hear there's remake planned for 2013.
