hey, im kalani also known as "k-man 79 wagon" (yes thats why it's k-man)

so I have a 1979 datsun sunny wags, I love it, got it for free off my dads mate and my dad and I are going to work on it...so here is where the build thread starts (it's going to be a slow process)

the plan is to get it road worthy, registered, maybe some small work to the a14 and in that time we will also be building a tourqe monster (we hope!!) l20b, has anyone here had experience with z24 cranks and l20b's that isnt my dad back in the 90's? i want to get this to an l20/24b and pop it in.

any tips are much apreciated :cheers

okay its not a vb310 its just a b310, ill have more pic soon, just spent the day on it as i had the day off school

It's either vb310 or wb310. The letter before b310 tells you she shape such as
Van/wagon/coupe

What did you do to it today

well i actually had the day off on wednsday but i couldnt post, i found a few alternators (it dosnt have one), checked and cranked my l20b thats in the garage, put some chrome mesh behind the grill (it looks shinny but also tough because i used deck bolts from a skateboard and rusty nuts as spacers), found an su carb and thermo fan in the garage too (score!!!) and checked under the body for rusty areas with a screw driver and it all solid and good, hopfully a little time and a little money and it should go through the pits first go. also its a wb310,

finnaly got started on the sunny properly!! now the maddness begins!! :twisted:

its now running with, new alternator, new vacumn hose from distributer, new battery.

need a new gearbox as the current one has a stuffed bearing and sounds like a rear hub of a bike, nedd to fix rust on wheels and under battery and on the drivers and passengers side guards, just sand it off, blodge it with killrust and smooth it off. thats is the only serious rust on the car which is good...kind of... :?

wheel covers are in good condition so i wont be using them unless i go on a cruise and the steering wheel will be changed asap after its registered, has no cracks, fading or wear what so ever.

hole in the exhaust but that will be an easy fix.

you sure dad, the tail gate looks alot steeper then mine, i think (as kind of said earlier) the vb310 has a steeper tail gate...
