Hey guys,

This is my primary commute vehicle. This is the first Datsun I've owned. I'm enjoying the journey and thought I'd share it's progress with you all. I hope you guys enjoy it!

I stumbled across this forum a couple of weeks ago while I was looking for some part numbers and have been frequenting the site since, there's definitely a lot for me to learn!

Here's what I have done so far;
Oil and filters changed.
2 1/4 inch Exhaust
13" Dragway Mags
MK1 Chin Spoiler
Fixed a few bits here and there

Here are a few pictures I took;

I will try and keep this thread updated :cheers

This looks like a nice clean example of a 200b! Good job mate.
Have you got any plans for it?

Thanks for the comments!
I think there were a few other owners before myself. I do have a few plans for the car, I'll be sure to keep this thread updated!
I just changed the starter motor today with a used unit. Mine was playing up.

The one on the left is the one I cleaned up and about to put in, and the one on the right is the faulty unit.

Nice! Are those wheels four stud Dragways? haha

Would look really great IMO if you brought the rear down a bit to match the front.

Haha, yes they are!
I would love to, but my first priority is to ensure that the motor is strong and healthy. Brakes and suspension is second on my list.

I'm waiting for some parts to be delivered. I was expecting them today, but it looks unlikely that they'll show up now. Dang.

Do you have a throttle linkage that will connect, the same fuel line diameter, vacuum hose connections and all that kinda thing? Because you will want to sort out solutions to that before installing it if you can, to minimise downtime.

To be honest, it didn't even cross my mind that they could have been different. I'd have to check.
The webber bolts onto the standard manifold if that tells us anything?

I wouldn't stress much about hooking it all up.

Throttle linkage from firewall to carby is STD 200B which you have.

If you have 6mm rubber fuel line from your steel fuel rail then stretch it over the 8mm barb on carby or use 8mm rubber from your fuel rail and double clamp at fuel rail end. Only under a couple of psi in pressure so nothing to worry about either way.

Only vacuum line off carby goes to dizzy.

Tappet cover gets plumbed into barb on underside of air filter assy.

You can run a "T" junction on that vacuum line to your fuel evap contraption (metal 3 barbed thing on your passenger strut tower) if you feel the need to hook that up.

Cheers

Scott.

Well you kinda may as well leave the manifold on your motor and just bolt the carbie on to that one? Probably easier that way. I didn't realise it was a standard intake manifold - that simplifies things a bit better.

And if ^ Scott says the throttle linkage is standard 200B stuff, then that makes things really easy.

Yeah the flexible fuel hose is forgiving but you just want to make sure you're prepared/got what you need before you pull the car apart (particularly if you don't have a second vehicle). That's all I was trying to get at.

Yep you are on the money Hezath. Leave the std mani on and mount the carby on that. Might need to swap the studs over to mount the carby but that would be about it in addition to what I wrote.
