had to do one recently and took about 5 mins its just 12v + to the starter solinoid via a momentary button (NO) and hit the button she'll crank
not real safe or secure unless you isolate the supply to the starter button using a relay triggered on via the keyed ignition curcuit and fuse on the feed into the button.

The simple way to do it is to route the solenoid wire through a momentary push button.
You still need the key to turn the Ignition Switch to the ON position to supply 12V power and provide security.
I had mine working for years like that.
Then I realised the Ignition resistor was in circuit during cranking [normally shorted out by the key contacts in the START position].
One jot of difference it made not!
Probably the HEI I was using had plenty of Oooomph at crank.
If you want to go truly key less, then the push button needs to be a bit more complicated and you will need some relays to switch some other functions.

The way I set them up is accesories to one missile switch, coil to one missile switch and then a momentary for the starting of the car. Usually hide a coil switch or electric fuel pump switch somewhere aswell. You still retain the key for steering lock. My point of view is barrels break easier then steering lock.
