Hi all,

First of all I have a S2 910 Bluebird and I am wondering if there are there any good suspension guys in melbourne that know these cars, preferably on west side?

The problem is this. When I push it into a right hander the turn is great but it overstreers a ealier than it should...I think. (It is a bloody borg warner live axel)
But when I push it into a left hander it understeers dramaticly. I have put new ball joints and tie rod ends in. also an r31 sway bar with new bushes. I have not done the control arms though. When I pulled the old sway bar out it was bent and looked like it had hit a rock or something.

I have check the rear lower traling arms and with a leaver I can move all the bushes from side to side but not up and down. but when I get someone to shove the car (when it is on the ground) from side to side all the movement is in the tire wall. they are quite high walled 14". I am thinking when the car is loaded from the enirtia from cornering that it might be move the bushes.

So I am going to put some nolethane bush in the lower trailing arms and see what happens.

But what I would really like to is have a suspension specialist measure it all and make sure all the dimensions of the suspension are correct. I am a little worried that right front strut might have been move back a little bit when the sway bar was bent by the previous owner.

Any thoughts would be greatly apriciated and some contacts for suspension gurus would be awesome!(not pedders)lol.

Cheers all.

Nik

My guess would be a either a worn shock asorber, uneven tyre pressure, bent chassis , bent radius rod or Lca's.
If you think you your strut is moved ,grab a tape measure and check rear wheel centre to front wheel centre from side 2 side.

cheers mate.

I am taking it in to pedders this Saturday morning. I spoke a guy in there who's into Datsun's Nissan's and owns a DR30. he reckons he should be able to find the problem for me. I'll a tape measure to it this afternoon. I hope it hasn't got a bent chassis.
I'll let you know how I go.

cheers mate.

So this is how it went. I took it in and my rear left shock is rooted, which I didn't bother checking because they are only 4 months old. the guy i saw was great, he tracked down my receit, I bought shocks from another pedders shop and lost my original receit. I am going to get an up grade on the shocks i bought before and just apy the diffence, just like a lay buy :D . the ones I am going to get lower the car by 19mm and hopefully are firmer. I am hoping that when i put these in it will help with the under steer i get when I am going hard in to a left hander. What I also noticed was that you can see that the left hand front tire has wear on the out side edge where it loads up when going hard in to a right hander and the tire rolls over on itself untill the the ass end lets go. The right had front tire has no wear at all on the outside edge so from what i can tell the traction gives way before the wheel loads up enough to roll over on itself. It could be the shocks, but I still get the feelng that it is a camber issue.

So what I am going to do is change the rear shocks which will lower it 19mm. then I will change the front shocks and springs and lower it 19mm there as well. I will probably go with pedders front springs and shocks unless any of you guys ahve a better idea. I think the pedders springs will be good but maybe I could get better front shocks? If this fails me I will have to get a good wheel alignment and get the camber checked, if it is all out of whack I guess I will have to get an ajustible camber kit.

Any thoughts at all guys are more than welcome.
