If you mean the bracket that runs down the middle to join everything together, then yes there are two sizes as I found out last weekend when I went to put the bracket out of my '70 1600 into my new '71 shell and it was too short.

Ok, I understand what you mean now. I think there are two support panels because I don't think the rad should be this high in my Datto. First shot is the bracket I was talking about, and second is difference that the rad that came out of my '70 1600, is in the '71 shell. Will measure the two shells tomorrow night for you but I think the first shot says it all.

Richard

I think 68 69 had smaller holes for the front indicators

there are other minor differences with early and late also besides the turn indicator cutouts.
The cut outs for the horn are different shape aswell aswell as the bulge below the radiator is different too...
Spot the differences here:

The difference was important when registering my '69 1600 because there is no year of manufacture stamped on the car. The rad support change is documented in the factory parts book with pics.

Early indicators are 'smaller'.
If you compare early with late. The inner edge of the turn indicator lines up with the middle of the high beam globe on early cars.
On later model 70-72 the indicator is further across...
Hard to explain in words so Ill find you another couple pics with indicators fitted to show the difference.

71's are approx. 33cm deep x 49cm wide and 70's 28cm deep and the same width.

It looks like a late model with early indicators cos they Seam a bit small? Do you have the kidney or circle horn holes? Easiest way too tell. Thanks nick;)
