Just wondering if I could bolt a FJ20 box straight into a L18?
If not what are the mods I need to do?

Yup, bolt pattern is IDENTICAL.
The rub is that the L series leans the opposite way to the FJ engine so unless you want a horizontal gear shift lever, it doesn't work :(

It does work, you just need a L series bellhousing, it'll bolt straight onto the FJ centreplate/cluster assu.

Plus replacing the front laygear bearing & shimming.

Would the FJ20 box be a 71C? Similar to the KA and SR20 boxes?

Really? Wow I didn't think the 71B would handle much more than a non turbo zx car. I'm not familiar with the FJ. They make some power don't they?

I should qualify that: the NA FJ20 as fitted to the S12 Sylvia is the 71B.
I have a turbo box in the shed somewhere but I have never looked to see what it is
