Hi all,

Ive decided to do a bare metal respay on my project 1600 that ive just started on.

Can anyone recommend to me a company that bead blasts in Sydney (Western Sydney would be better), also what sort of $$$ have people payed.

I rang a local company and they do garnet blasting and i was quoted $240/hr!!! Thought that was a little rich

Any knowledge, tips, advice much appreciated.

Luke

Hey mate, don't know of any in Sydney.

As for price, allow around $1000 ~ $1500 then possibly another $500ish for etch primer

Cheers,

Trent

Hi Luke

I also need to get my car blasted. I'm also in Western Sydney.

This place is at Blacktown http://advancedsodablasting.com/

I cant vouch for them though because I haven't used them. I just remember people talking about it.

I would also be keen to know where you end up getting it done at.

Regards
Jason

Hey Jason,

I called a few places and have had quotes from $1600 - $2000 for complete car blasting, inside/outside, panels ect

My mate recently had an old Holden sprayed and only payed $1200 - when i called it magically has climbed to $2000  And his car is huge............maybe my mates telling me stories.

I am going over to see a guy at 'Outwest Sandblasting' quoted $1600 complete and will see his work and try to get the price down a little :)

I ended up finding a sandblaster in Londonderry (Western Sydney) after being recommended by one of the old mans friends.

Cost was $1400 for entire car and all panels, couldnt be happier with the result :) For a case of beer he let me use his shed space to spray the car. They blast a lot of cars, trucks, pretty much everything and the phones always ringing. Even got a BBQ lunch today when i was spraying primer!

The guys name is Ray - 0408 972 464

They use a mix of a couple of products, one being Stauralite. The material resemebles volcanic sand and is super fine.

Heres a few pics.

Really those prices are cray cray. Im getting my floor, engine bay and underneath done on friday and they said between 200-400 for it. It is sandblasting but. Its also the place my panel beater sends his stuff to so it should be good.

Cheers,

Richard.

i got mine done last week. it was sand blasting i got the floor, engine bay, underneath, wheel wells, sills and half the boot done 400 bucks. he said it would be 600 for the whole car. pretty good price if you ask me. it was done in nowra. i just applied the etch myself and por15 the floors and underneath. i personally wouldnt get the roof and rear quarters done to scared of warping lol but im considering getting all my doors, boot and bonnet done so much easier. if you want contact details just pm me and ill pass them on :D

Cheers,

Richard.
