Wing Window Seals. Does anyone know anything about them being made in Australia? Once again we have them being offered for sale over here. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/52372 ... wing-seal/ I don't want to close off a legit supply to members over here but we've been burned too many times.

Is saying they are made in Oz just a way of legitimizing them? Why made there and sold from Thailand?

Thanks for the heads up, Mike.
I am not aware of any 521 vents seals in production in Australia.
These are possible fakes.

We have a good rep in the US & Canada for quality seals.
They have been proven to last in harsh conditions for 10 years & counting.

So a few forums are recommending our rubbers & Aussie seals as the best available.

So I guess the crap rubber makers are passing their products off as OZ made to cash in.

Most, not all, our seals are made in a backyard factory, in Adelaide, by a family team.
The rubber is mixed & extruded in another small factory , all so located in Adelaide.

The moulds are also made locally.

They cost way more to make than the cheap asian stuff, but the sellers are cashing in
because they use Aussie made prices as a guide to rip us off with crap products.

Our rubber guy is always up for improving the products where he can.
Our new boot seal is much softer than previous version.

BUY our seals or not, but make sure they are made in OZ.
Keep our people in work, and buy the best.

Hi baz, am looking at getting some window rubbers from you that attach to the chrome trims. They appear stapled on from factory. How do guys go about replacing these? As these are almost non existent on my wagon so the windows rattle about 10mm with the window down.

There are a couple of methods to re-attach the wipers to the chrome strips.
The factory used staples as you know.
If you have access to the mother of all staplers, you could do it that way.
I used tiny self tapping screws through the original staple holes, drilled out to suit.
Some have used pop rivets.
No matter what you use, you have to be very careful that the excess length of the fastener is not liable to scratch the window glass as you roll it up and down.
The self tappers I used required their tips to be ground off within a mm or so of the strip to avoid any possibility of them interfering with the glass.
Apart from that, it worked a treat and is still doing so :)

I've just bought the outer strip kits off Baz for my rally car and was going to make my staples out of mig wire but now I've got them they have a metal insert bonded to the rubber, so I'm wonder do people think if I used Sikaflex & then clamped the strips together it would hold as I noticed the the insert sits in the grooves at the bottom of the window frame so that will hold the ends in.

Thanks Richard
