For sure i'm keeping it stock/original, paint isnt perfect but will stay as it is. Would possibly like to get a vinyl roof at some stage to replace the original one that was taken off a few years back. Changed the front shockers yesterday, still had the original ones in it and they were completely shot. Also noticed there wasn't much idler bush left so i ordered new ones. Rear shockers havent arrived yet. Bought some tune-up bits today: Points Condenser Dizzy cap Dizzy rotor Fuel filter Fuel hose Oil filter Oil Spark plugs and leads Gearbox Oil Rocker cover gasket Idler arm bushes Old school JDM wipers are awesome! I changed just the rubber as to keep the original look (instead of using the rubber and plastic) Also noticed this in front of the radiator, home made bug-catcher to keep them out of the radiator fins, genius!
Hey Trav, I was just thinking it might be an idea to get another set of wheels if your going to use it every day, I'd hate to damage the original wheel trims.Besides that I'm still very jealous...awsome car mate
Hey mate i have thought about that, but because it's not going to be driven a whole lot i'll just keep the original ones on.
I have a lot of respect for keeping it original, it means there will be cars like this for generations to come. good work mate! you deserve alot of recognition for keeping an old car like this in factory condition.
Thanks mate! Im just glad the previous owner had so much respect for the car.
Definitely keep it original, can't be many of these around at all!
Definately mate! i've only heard of a few others still kicking around and most of them are the same colour haha.

You need to not use aftermarket parts, try nissan for genuine bushes and coil and leads sounds dicky but will only add to the appeal and value as a collectors item. It's a great car. Shocks are hidden in the strut tubes any way. |

Yeah i really dont want to use aftermarket parts but figured most of this stuff is hidden, the coil was changed by previous owner snd id like to find an original to replace it, as for leads i just grabbed whats in stock, would definately like to use the original brand. Also Nissan didn't have bushes. I'm not going to throw out any of the parts I replace. |

Hi Mate Congrats on finding a granny spec version! These are becoming hard to find these days. If you haven’t done so already, you may like to read the story of my Stanza Coupe – same colour as yours, just not in the same spec….! See link below to my Japanese Nostalgic forum thread: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/v ... hp?t=10085 Good luck and great decision to keep it original! Cheers, Craig |
