Gday Just wondering if putting in a hydraulic handbrake requires Engineering for rego? I'm in Canberra, I know each state is different, just wondering what experiences others have had? Thanks. |

If you are changing the braking system to something it never came out with from the factory, then I cant see how you would not need an engineers certificate. |

Used to be the case in NSW that if the handbrake was part of the existing system it would not pass for rego so a few people i was rallying with used to run a seperate set of calipers and use a completely seperate system. From memory a master cylinder similar to what would be used on a trailer was mounted on the handbrake bracket. This solved the rego problem, but, was also 15 years ago so rules no doubt have changed. |
