Hey guys done a whole heap of searching and looking up but can't work out what I actually have. How can I work out what it is without pulling it apart??
Want to know what head? What box? What block etc.

Top right of the block (above the oil filter) is the engine number. This will read L20B***** or L18***** etc.
Looks like a bluebird L20B and 5speed to me.

In the middle of the last pic is the stamp for the head. Block will have an engine number on it also. L16, L18, L20 etc.

That looks like a Stanza gearbox to me. Is the reverse up near where 1st usually is??

Without pulling it apart there's no way to know what's inside the engine, but the engine number will be stamped on the block and read "L18xxxxxxx" and that tells you if the block is an L18, etc. The head will also have a casting mark on it such as "A87".

If you ask me it's a Series II Bluebird L20B & 5-speed and will have a U67 head... but I'm just a newbie.

Ok awesome.

Been told it had a cam, extractors twin 40mm dellortos so in the 120y wagon it should go ok.

Appreciate everyone's input.

This looks like an L20 block due to the fact that it has the two bolts close together at the top of timing cover. Maybe someone has restamped the engine number, i have seen this done so as not to muck around changing details after an engine swap. Is the "L" a nice curved shape or square like a normal L?

yep, that's an L20B. L16/18 have shorter blocks and only one bolt at the top of the timing cover. Only L20B's have the 2 bolts together like that.
