Hi All.

Just trying to work out exactly what I would need for the swap.
From what I can gather, it is a long box that I need? But what about tailshaft? Can I just run the current one?

Sorry if this has come up before, I had a look, but couldn't find any definitive answers.

Cheers!

The transmission doesn't care what clutch is driving it and the clutch doesn't care what transmission is behind it. However, the release bearing holder, or collar or sleeve IS matched to the clutch size and it's on the clutch arm which can end up staying with the transmission and end up mated to the wrong clutch.

If you have a 4 speed, keep the collar (but replace the bearing) and put it on the 5 speed clutch arm.

Thanks for that.

So from my understanding, I need a 5 speed long box, my shaft should be fine ( :giggle: ) but I need to pay attention to this 'sleeve'.

Will be able to use the sleeve from the 4speed, but replace the bearing.

Are there any other bits and bobs I should expect to change while I have it all dropped out? I figure I may as well do it right the first time.

Depends how much you want to spend. If your clutch isn't too good it might be worth putting a new one in and replacing the spigot bush. The throw out bearing for the clutch sleeve should come with a clutch kit too.
