Hi,

I have a stanza that tends to wander around the road a little due to play in the steering. I recently put nolathane front control arm and radius rod bushings in which made a big improvement but has not solved the issue.

Upon removal of the steering box from my parts car I noticed this coupling:

The one in my car is similarly rooted. Could this worn out piece of rubber be a contributor to my problem? Any other advice is highly welcome.

could be.

Once you drive a car with rack and pinion steering you soon realise that the whole datsun steering system is sh*t. I've replaced the whole of my steering components, had the steering box rebuild and still have that famous datsun steering slop.

You can fix it as much as you can, but it just goes to prove that you cant polish a turd.

Just imagine what someone would say if they didn't like old Datsuns.

Yeah it doesn't have to be perfect to be fun.
