I think you can still get 205/60/13, not sure about a 70 though. Either way there wouldn't be many companies making that tyre size now.

Yeah thanks Alistair. I brought two 205/60r13 for the rear last week. They are now on the front, as they left around a two inch gap between tyre and guard. Guess I may just have to go 205/60 all round. Don't really want to lower anymore because I kinda like the way its stands. 14's or 15's may be my best option. Think the only place I'm gonna find them that size is underneath a hemmorrhoidal old granny. P.S big ShaunO caught more than a few out. Felt a little sorry for xLukex.

Even 14s are starting to become scarce in nice profiles. I needed new tyres on the back of my RX-7 recently and specifically requested the cheapest pair in 185/60/14. $80 each. They're holding up okay but provide too much grip when I don't want it. Try lowering your car slightly and see if that solves your problem I guess. Otherwise hunt around for second hand tyres.

Yes, Big ShaunO caught me out too. That was a great fun thread. Hopefully he makes a come back one day. Why'd you feed sorry in particular?

Thanks for the reply's and advice Alistair. Fark I may hafta look at 20inch then if decent profiles are getting harder to come by as well in 14's. I better buy a commodore! I must say that the falken 912 205/60r13 I swaped to the front grip like a chimp to a lofty branch. I'm quite happy with the tyre, just the space on rear arches looked sh#t.. Now as for xlukex goes, he did do his due diligence, (try saying that with a mouth full of marbles) to sift through the bullshit and what he got was abuse. That's why I felt a (bit) sorry for the bloke. Anyway, Happy New Year Ozdaters. Been out bending the elbow so I hope this makes sense toarvo.

I'm not willing to visit all the aged care homes in Melbourne, so it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go the 205/60's all round. Screw those rubber makers, I have the same problem with condoms. At least I can still buy thimbles.

So can you still buy new 205/60/13 tyres then? If so, which brand and roughly how much?

Hey don't laugh Alistair. It may only be 2 inches long, but it has a head on it like a fist. The tyres are a FALKEN ZE912 and cost a dollar seventy a quarter from Kim Jane. And my rubber woes don't end there. Tonight I've been fitting a new door seal to the DSF which I'd removed the door to fit, and on install couldn't get it to close right. So after adjusting the hinges and door jam lock a hundred or so times I realized that it needed to be slammed shut. Once again, screw those rubber makers.

Sounds like you're having a bad time with your rubbers. I had a similar problem with door seals recently, that's what happens when you buy them from Taiwanese rubber makers. Maybe they need the fist. At least there's some semi-good news on your tyre front. I'll have to check them out when I need new tyres. Can you post a picture of how your car sits now?

Well it ain't as bad as it all sounds. The door seal was purchased from rare spares and it seems ok, its just a tight fit. I Just can't understand why they don't make a wider range in 13's. Anyway all good. Got the other two on, only as a matter of hours ago and man have they made noticeable difference when it comes to the cornering and grip. The gap between tyre and wheel arch ain't as bad as first reported. (around an inch, so half my D!ck size)Guess I was just use to seeing The Dato with a bigger tyre.
