Had thought of doing it, wouldn't have to run computer or loom and in a old datto it would look pretty cool I reckon. Could use maybe twin 50's on it?

Its a expensive exercise just to make less power than a std turbo engine with less drivability to boot.

Im all for doing something different but how would you meet emissions on the newer motor with carbs and register it in a street car?
Apart from the look and sound (which an ITB setup could mimic) it would be a step back IMO.
Cold starts would be a bitch, fuel smell, custom parts, dyno tuning and setup costs etc and as sled says less power (mainly down low).
The intake/filters would probably hit the master cyls too...

I would start by rebuilding the engine, e.g flat tops, balanced bottom end bigger cams. Custom parts are no problem at all. Im pretty sure that emmisions wont be a problem because it only has to match the emission laws of when the car came out. Fuel smell and cold starts are what defines an old car. Some n/a motors have distributors and if theres no luck there could alway make a custom one. just something different i guess.

Ran an SR20DE with Haltech fuel only computer using a modified Pulsar electronic dizzy quite successfully. I reckon the dizzy was from an N12 from memory.

There was a fella here in Adelaide running a weber fed SR in his 1600 TCM car.

Do a cut and shut on the rocker cover, make all rectangular and box like looking, to look like an original LZ Twin Cam
Mikuni Solex 44's for high air speed velocity, or 50 Solex's for high rpm, not so grwat down low.
Just need ecu for ignition control.
Very cool!

Do you remember what was modified in the dizzy to make it work? Was it straight bolt on to sr ?
Would like to run no ecu or loom if I could help it, to tidy up the bay

Not much, machined an adapter to use the SR drive on the Pulsar dizzy, not sure if we made an adapter plate to bolt it into the engine.
I know we did have it recurved to suit the advance curve required whilst at the dyno.

Wired up like any old school electronic system.
