After some oxy, die grinder and normal grinder work the ring is done. Holes have been tapped as well. Cut a hole in the top of the tank and it's ready to drop to get welded.

ok so here it is. you can see I chose to mount it on the passenger side of the tank this way I can still use original sender unit so no rewiring, also I was told couple of people have mounted pumps that side and track tested with no surge problems. so now just bolt the pump in and im using some different mounting bolts which are a lil thicker and longer which make it more solid install

I think you are on the right track. This is what I was talking about earlier. If you enlarge the photo you can just see the upper and lower ring with the plastic fuel pump flange sandwiched in between. The lower ring is thicker to get enough engaged threads before the bolt bottoms out.

This is what I did way back when. Only advice is dont cut the hole as big as I did. Otherwise all fit in quite neatly with limited fab required. Not sure how hard it is to find r31 parts nowadays though :/ Cheers James http://www.ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7070 |
