Does anyone know how to remove the vacuum advance from an Hitachi dizzy. |

Yes, it is relatively simple. The vacuum advance motor has a shaft that enters the distributor body. Attachment:
You can see the shaft in this pic.That shaft hooks on to a pin located on the distributor advance plate. Once you dismount the vacuum motor from the body you can disengage the shaft from the pin. I don't know why you are doing this, but if you intend to do away with the vacuum advance altogether, you will need to clamp the advance plate to prevent it from rotating and randomly altering the timing. |
